After the unprecedented success of E2Max@Cine-L9 at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, E2Max@TheCathay is set to open its doors on the fourth level of The Cathay at Handy Road on 16 December 2006.
Distinctly different from the youth-oriented E2Max@Cine-L9, this second E2Max outlet is designed to appeal to working executives. The interiors will feature a stylish chill-out ambience where one can unwind over a glass of wine or light refreshments before embarking on a cyber challenge. This is an alternative venue for the mature cyber games enthusiast who may find it more comfortable battling it out in a less boisterous environment.
E2Max@TheCathay will feature some 100 e-gaming stations for both online and LAN games in varying configurations and levels for single or multi-player gameplay. Top-of-the-line amenities include AMD Core 2 computers and Microsoft Xbox 360. Players can expect selected game titles to be played via an electronic wheel and other professional e-gaming peripherals.
Games genre will cover a spectrum ; from action, strategy, sports to adventure and movie-related themes.
In addition to cyber games, ‘live’ broadcasts of major sports and local events will be featured on the screens within the centre.
E2Max@TheCathay is also designed to cater to smaller competitions which organisations and corporations may consider as part of their staff welfare or corporate events and programmes.
E2Max@TheCathay aims to be the ultimate platform for the showcase of local e-gaming contents by working closely with local authorities, games developers and e-gaming communities to conduct workshops, courses and other events related to e-gaming.
Rental of the e-gaming stations will be based on a “play first and pay later” basis. The stations will be operated by the world’s most advanced cyber cafe management software, Smartlaunch 4.1. It is a professional software package designed to deliver a complete management solution for gaming centres and internet cafés, which introduces a wide range of features including computer booking, licence management, financial and statistical reports, integrated POS system and advanced security.
Managed by E2Max Centre Pte Ltd, E2Max@TheCathay will operate daily from 12 noon to midnight and on Saturdays, till 3 am.
