Public listed Cathay Organisation Holdings Ltd (COH) is pleased to announce the change of name of ‘Hangout Hotels Pte Ltd’ to Hangout Hotels International Pte Ltd’.
This signals Hangout Hotels’ intent to expand in the hospitality industry. Hangout Hotels International will be looking towards bringing the hangout brand of “no frills, just fun” hotels into the region. Plans are currently underway in sourcing for appropriate locations in South East Asia.
Since its opening in April 2004, the first Hangout hotel, hangout @ mt emily has received much interest and positive response for its accommodations, service and facilities. These are just some of the things which our guests had to say :-

As part of its expansion initiative, hangout @ mt emily is pleased to be a licensed Hostelling International (HI) operator for the Youth Hostels Association Singapore, YHA(S), which is an associate organisation of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF).
Hostelling International has over 4,000 associated hostels located in over 60 countries around the world and a membership base of over 3 million worldwide.
Originally created to help young people of limited means to experience the world, hostels are now at the heart of international tourism for a wide age group. Today's hostellers are just as likely to be in their thirties. The hostel network enables all people of differing nationalities, cultures and social background to meet, share experiences, learn about each other and the surroundings and thereby to develop a better understanding of their fellow men, both at home and abroad.
This is very much the philosophy of hangout @ mt emily which is all about providing a meeting point for travellers to enhance and exchange their understanding of Singapore and Asia and of our rich assortment of cultures. hangout @ mt emily is also all about affordable lodgings in a no frills, just fun environment yet without compromising on cleanliness comfort and safety to seasoned and new adventurers.
This philosophy will be reiterated throughout all future hangout hotels.
