CATHAY PROUDLY PRESENTS THE SECOND MALAYSIAN FILM FESTIVAL 23 TO 26 SEPTEMBER 2005, CATHAY CINEPLEX ORCHARD CINELEISURE

A firm believer in bringing in cutting edge films to entertain the local audience, Cathay is once again proud and pleased to be the organiser of the second Malaysian Film Festival in Singapore.

A total of 8 feature films will be showcased in this year’s festival with a special segment focussed on the changing facets of women’s issues.

The Opening film Gol and Gincu (Goal and Lipstic), which premieres in Singapore, is directed by Bernard Chauly. The story is told in a comedic manner and depicts how women of various characters, face their different challenges in life.

Other highlights include two films by critically acclaimed director, U-Wei. His films Kaki Bakar and Buai Laju Laju participated in the Bangkok Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival respectively. Sanctuary, directed by Ho Yu Hang and which won praises at Pusan Film Festival will also be featured at this festival.
